STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS IN KANSAS AND NEW JERSEY TO USE EPALS' EMAIL AND BLOG TOOLS FOR SAFE, GLOBAL COLLABORATION
Award-winning SchoolM@il, SchoolBlog and Online Literacy Curriculum Services Help Educators Incorporate 21st Century Skills in the Classroom
HERNDON, VIRGINIA, November 1, 2007 — ePals announced today that it is working with the Educational Technology Training Centers of New Jersey and Kan-ed of Kansas to make school-safe email and blog solutions widely available to educators and students in these states. Both of these organizations focus on technology and training that help K-12 students and educators learn and collaborate online. They understand the need for destinations like the ePals Global Learning Community that provide safe, project based learning environments for users to connect with peers down the block, around the globe and across cultures.
"Kansas students will benefit from the ability to collaborate and communicate safely through the ePals SchoolM@il and SchoolBlog resources," said Melinda Stanley from the Kansas Department of Education. "Building learning opportunities with tools that students are naturally drawn to will help encourage their engagement and participation, while promoting the development of 21st century skills."
"The collaborative tools ePals offers are uniquely appropriate for where student learning is headed in this day and age," said Sue Sullivan from the Educational Technology Training Centers of New Jersey. "Their communication tools provide us with valuable products that stimulate and grow student motivation, language skills and 21st Century learning-essential traits that propel students far ahead in their academic careers."
These collaborations represent further examples of grass roots and school-led initiatives announced by ePals over the last two months bringing its safe learning community and award winning email, blog and literacy solutions to millions of school children around the world. More than 1,000 schools, 185 school districts and 11 million educators and students are served by ePals.
