ePals ANNOUNCES SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR TEACHER AND CLASSROOM USE OF SCHOOL-SAFE EMAIL
New program means that teachers can immediately provide every student in their classrooms
with opportunities to build 21st century skills, collaborate with students around the globe, and
benefit from protected communication
Orlando, Florida — January 24, 2007 — ePals, Inc. today announced a special program for
teachers who want every student in their classrooms to learn 21st century reading, writing and
thinking skills. Available for $39.95, the program provides the classroom with a safe and
protected SchoolM@il account for the teacher, up to 30 students in her classroom, and an
administrator account. The accounts can be used for both the remainder of this school year and
for students in the teacher's 2007-2008 class.
"Our announcement today is about making SchoolM@il available to each and every child in a
classroom without reliance on scarce federal, state and district funds," said Ed Fish, CEO of
ePals. "Parent Teacher groups, individual parents, and other organizations can easily give
teachers access to this program for all their students."
"Ten years of working with thousands of teachers and millions of students has shown the benefit
of classroom collaboration on reading and writing," said Tim Discipio co-founder and Chief
Marketing Officer of ePals. "Until today, however, budgetary considerations have made it
harder for teachers to make ePals SchoolM@il available to all their students. Individual
accounts, combined with teacher-led classroom collaboration, provide an optimal opportunity for
authentic student learning."
This is the first of several initiatives following the January 2007 merger of In2Books and ePals
Classroom Exchange that will provide teachers, schools, and families with safe, affordable,
research proven learning services. For the past seven years, In2Books' focus has been
developing and deploying curriculum-based reading, writing, and critical thinking experiences
enhanced by collaboration among students, teachers, and intellectual mentors.
ePals SchoolM@ail programs for schools and school districts remain economical and offer
market leading administrative controls and a protected environment with multilingual
capabilities. This easy-to-use suite includes student safe email, discussion boards, file sharing
and custom school homepages. ePals SchoolBlog was awarded a 2006 Technology and
Learning Award of Excellence and is available at www.ePals.com.
